Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments. Guide less experienced technicians and suggest measures to improve operations and customer service. Typical duties/responsibilities for field service may include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform field service operations that may involve unusual problems requiring strong technical skills. Construct prototype models, as requested. Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of equipment and procedures. Record, compile and reduce data for analysis and assist in related assessment and preparation of reports. Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying own knowledge and experience to resolve problems. Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Conduct detailed inventories and inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs. Assist in planning and coordinating team efforts. Guide less experienced technicians and instruct them in proper and safe operation of equipment. Often work non standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions. COMPLEXITY OF TASKS: Requires understanding of Company products and equipment, engineering concepts and practices. Requires judgment in selecting most effective approaches and adapting standard practices and procedures to resolve complex semi-technical problems. Decisions and actions may affect quality and result in rework as assignments are not subject to close scrutiny.
